Palace of Justice, Amsterdam, 2012
For the Palace of Justice in Amsterdam Barbara created a few monumental works inspired by great Baroque painters, such as Rubens and Tiepolo. Since our current laws are rooted in the ancient Classical legal system, Barbara based her depiction of good and evil on Classical myths and legends. These ancient stories not only tell of gods, half-gods and their interactions with mortal humans, they also feature the complete range of human emotions: anger, jealousy, fear, love, happiness and sadness.
