The Golden Thread 2022-2023
For The Golden Thread, Broekman works with existing materials. She has used an international collection of clothing and accessories brought together by Henriette and Henk Beukers. Broekman has rigorously used scissors to cut hundreds of garments, tablecloths and all kinds of other pieces of fabric into a collage of more than 10 meters wide and 2.8 meters high: a total of 550 panels of each 22 x 22 cm.
