World Cultures, 2005

World Cultures shows intertwined images of different countries. Photo’s of people from different cultures are woven through representative images of each country, such as landscapes, architectural aspects or ornaments. In these works Broekman takes the combining of images one step further by literally weaving the images together according to existing weaving patterns, creating new layers of composition and colour. World Cultures was executed in two sizes: 45 x 45 cm and 105 x 105 cm.
